WWW Wednesday, May 20, 2020

Hey, it’s the middle of the week already, which means it’s time for all the office jokesters to mimic that Geico commercial annnnnd it’s time for WWW Wednesday!

This meme was formerly hosted by MizB at A Daily Rhythm and revived on Taking on a World of Words—and shown to me by Aurore-Anne-Chehoke at Diary-of-a-black-city-girl.

The Three Ws are:

What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?

Easy enough, right?

I’m reading Last Couple Standing by Matthew Norman and am listening to Lethal White by Robert Galbraith, Robert Glenister (Narrator).

  1. I just finished The Shadow Rising last night and was too tired to see what was coming up. So I’m swinging and missing for currently and next 😀

    • Book Limbo? A terrifying place to be. Hope whatever you grabbed is a good one!

      • Thankfully, it only lasted from when I went to sleep until I got home from work the next day 🙂
Now I’m happily reading “Mr Murder”….

  2. I just finished reading (re-reading, actually) “Teacher Man” by Frank McCourt, in which he recounts his decades teaching English in New York City schools. His experiences so closely mirrored my three decades teaching English in inner-city Pittsburgh high schools that at times I felt as though he was writing about my career, too. At the moment, I’m reading “Life at the Dakota,” a fascinating book about the legendary New York City apartment building (home to so many celebrities over the years). Next up will be “Grudge Match,” Mike Lupica’s second Sunny Randall novel. I hope it holds up as well as his first effort in the series. Happy reading, all!

    • I think Grudge Match is a better novel than his first–but I don’t like what it says about the direction of the series (I’m open to Lupica showing me that I’m wrong next year…)

  3. My husband loved the Comran Strike books, and we watched the TV series together! Really good!

    • Haven’t watched the series yet, need to.

      • No… wait until you’ve finished reading the books. My husband wouldn’t let us watch the final episode until he’d read the book that this episode included, and he was glad we waited. But they are adapted very well, according to him. As was A Casual Vacancy, which he read and then we watched the TV show.

        • The audiobook is a “reread” for me, so I’m good. But I appreciate the warning.

I may have been better served to have skipped the book and gone straight to the series with Casual Vacany, series was so much better 🙂
