WWW Wednesday, already?

This meme was formerly hosted by MizB at A Daily Rhythm and revived on Taking on a World of Words—and shown to me by Aurore-Anne-Chehoke at Diary-of-a-black-city-girl.

The Three Ws are:

What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?

Easy enough, right?

What are you currently reading?

I’m reading the complex fantasy novel, The Mask of Mirrors by M. A. Carrick, and am listening to The Salvage Crew by Yudhanjaya Wijeratne, Nathan Fillion (Narrator) on audiobook.

What did you recently finish reading?

I just finished Ace Atkin’s Robert B. Parker’s Someone to Watch Over Me (there’s an excess of of possessives there) and finally listened to Orphan X by Gregg Hurwitz, Scott Brick (Narrator) on audio.

What do you think you’ll read next?

My next book should be White Trash Warlock by David R. Slayton and Percy Jackson’s Greek Gods by Rick Riordan, Jesse Bernstein (Narrator) on audiobook.

Nothing like scheduling a post 12 hours early…

  2. How is Nate Fillion as a narrator?

He’s really good. I wasn’t sure if he’d be able to carry something on voice alone (although his voice acting on things like Green Lantern was fine), but I’ve been pleased so far (75% through)

  3. I just finished reading Robin DiAngelo’s “White Fragility” – see my review on Amazon at https://www.amazon.com/gp/customer-reviews/R1TSOTU3E6AZML?ref=pf_ov_at_pdctrvw_srp

I also just finished a fast re-read of Dorothy Sayers’ “Whose Body”, the first of the Lord Peter Wimsey mysteries. My Amazon review at https://www.amazon.com/gp/customer-reviews/R3MWXVIXDTGJMC?ref=pf_ov_at_pdctrvw_srp

I am currently reading Dorothy Dunnett’s “The Disorderly Knights”, third volume of the Lymond Chronicles. The setting has moved from Scotland to Malta, and who knows where it will go from there? Large and complicated cast of characters, as usual with Dunnett.

And I am still working away at “The Iliad”. It’s not that it’s a hard read – the Fagle translation is wonderfully fast-paced, but there has been so much else going on,

Next I plan to read “The Color of Law”, by Richard Rothstein, on how discriminatory regulations and laws brought about de facto segregation in housing in and out of the South. I also have on my table Margaret Atwood’s “The Penelopiad” but I may have to read “The Odyssey” first.
