Bodacious Creed and the Frisco Syndicate Kickstarter

A few months ago, I blogged about Jonathan Fesmire’s Steampunk Zombie Western, Bodacious Creed, a very fun adventure in the middle of a genre mashup. Like so many books, Bodacious Creed came into the world via Kickstarter.

The sequel, Bodacious Creed and the Frisco Syndicate is looking to come into the world in the same way.

James “Bodacious” Creed is a former U.S. Marshal in an alternate 1876, now a sort of intelligent zombie resurrected with steam and ether technology.

After his harrowing adventures in Santa Cruz, California, recounted in Bodacious Creed: a Steampunk Zombie Western, he goes after a crime boss who has fled to San Francisco, in Bodacious Creed and the Frisco Syndicate.

Just like backers of the first Kickstarter, you can help shape Creed’s story. Check out the new Kickstarter now. Watch the two-minute video and check out the description and rewards.

Check it out, kick that start.

GENRENAUTS Kickstarter

Genrenauts: The Complete Season One Collection/widget/video.html

If you read this blog regularly, you know I’m a huge fan of Michael R. Underwood’s Genrenauts series. If you don’t, take my word for it (or go read my posts on both novellas, the short story, and the audiobooks). Now, there’s the opportunity to back the production of the rest of “Season 1” of the series.

I encourage you to back it, buy the books, read the books, and then maybe back it at a higher level 🙂

I’ll try not to be annoying, but I will remind you about this a time or two in the next 29 days.

The Great Way Kickstarter

Harry Connolly, writer of the criminally underselling UF series The Twenty Palaces, has moved on to Epic Fantasy. This project sounds great — watch the video, read the Kickstarter page, toss some money at the guy.

Kickstarter: A Phantom Tollbooth Documentary

On Twitter a little bit ago, I saw a link to a Kickstarter for a documentary about The Phantom Tollbooth and tossed out my plan for today’s post. The Phantom Tollbooth is one of those books that was so formative for me that it seems like I need a better word to describe its effect on me.

My impulse was to throw up a post about its impact on my life/thinking, but that’d take too long (and I’d have to reread the book, and I’m behind as it is). If you’ve read it, you probably understand — and if you haven’t, just take my word for it and go read it. Even as an adult, it’s one of those that contains enough that a kid won’t get, but an adult will love. Think early Loony Tunes shorts. I read it with my kids a couple of years back — and it was as good (if not better) then, than it was when I read it a couple of decades ago (for the first of many times).

Basically, I’m excited for this one. I hope it gets all the funding it needs.

Ideally, you’ll see the video embedded below. But wordpress doesn’t seem to want to display that (or at least not in preview or edit mode, so I don’t know if it’ll show or not. If it doesn’t, click the link back in my first sentence to go watch it.
