Driving to the hospital for some appointment last week, we’re listening to an oldies station and this song comes on the radio. I turn it up, apologizing to my son, explaining it was a song I was obsessed with as a kid. To my shock, he replies, “Of course, it’s a great song.” Not only did he know this song, it’d been on pretty heavy rotation on his playlists recently.

So, in honor of a little unexpected bonding:

Maybe this is too soon to come back to Steve Martin, but I haven’t been listening to a lot of music on my excursion to Utah, so we’re going to go with the one song I’ve listened to lately, okay?

When he’s not singing with Memphis May Fire, Matty Mullins is singing with one of my favorite bands, Anberlin. So when this dropped last week, it hit various Anberlin groups I’m part of. I haven’t been able to get it out of my head since then. (much to the consternation of others in my household, I’m sure)

If you don’t spend the rest of the day (or possibly a couple of days) humming/singing this tune, if not rewatching it to sing along, I’ve misjudged you.

True story, I had to rewatch it after typing that. I don’t know how many times I’ve watched this now.

This is a fun little song that Washington Poe introduced me to while reading The Killer’s Mark.

I may have soured on the new books, but I’ll always have a special place in my heart for Lee Child’s creation (and am having fun with the TV version). Gotta love this song (the first few and last seconds of the video are particularly nice):
