Here we are with the first WWW Wednesday of 2021.

This meme was formerly hosted by MizB at A Daily Rhythm and revived on Taking on a World of Words—and shown to me by Aurore-Anne-Chehoke at Diary-of-a-black-city-girl.

The Three Ws are:

What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?

Easy enough, right?

What are you currently reading?

I’m reading Ready Player Two by Ernest Cline and, thanks to Monday’s post, am listening to In This Bright Future by Peter Grainger, Gildart Jackson (Narrator) on audiobook.

What did you recently finish reading?

I just finished Noelle Holten’s Dead Perfect (and can’t figure out how to talk about it without ruining something) and Highfire by Eoin Colfer, Johnny Heller (Narrator) on audio. I really wasn’t wanting to dip my toe in that again, but none of my holds were ready from the library and I had to grab something (still fun, I should add).

What do you think you’ll read next?

My next book should be The Curious Dispatch of Daniel Costello by Chris McDonald and Orphan X by Gregg Hurwitz, Scott Brick (Narrator) on audiobook.

Hit me with your Three W’s in the comments, I’m curious!

  1. This is actually what I was reading last Wednesday, when the site refused to take comments. Let’s see if it is in a better mood today.

I just finished reading Ibram X. Kendi’s “How to be an Anti-racist.” Kendi has come up with a powerful idea in “anti-racism” and flogs it almost past use by applying it to every other ism you can think of, Here’s the review i posted on Amazon:

I am currently still swotting away at the “Iliad”. In the Fagles translation, it is a lively read, though quite violent. The Trojans have just breached the palisades which the Greeks built to protect their ships, Hector is sweeping all before him, and Achilles is still sulking in his tent.

In frothy contrast to the above, I’m nearly done with Dorothy Sayers’ collection of short stories “Lord Peter Views the Body.” A few of the stories are up to Sayers’ best, but the others are great fun. I’m currently working out the crossword puzzle in “Uncle Meleager’s will”.

Next I’m planning to read Dorothy Dunnett’s “Disorderly KNights”, the third volume of the Lymond Chronicles. But I may be distracted by Lee Child’s “The Hard Way”, a Jack Reacher thriller that I somehow missed.

  2. I’m currently reading Gulag Archipelago Vol II. It feels like I’ve always been reading it, always am reading it and always will be reading it.

    ughhhhhhhhhh.
